After nearly ten years of long distance dating, TODAY IS THE DAY that my BF moves in!!!!!!!!!!

I leave in about 15 minutes to pick him up from the airport!

Okay, I'm 43, but I might as well be in highschool, experience-wise. This is the first time I have lived with an SO, and we have both lived alone for many years. I know that we're both going to have a lot of adjusting to do, but please keep your fingers crossed for us. :)

I am SO excited, and so terrified... But SO excited!!! lol

I probably won't be checking in for a little while because we're taking a four day weekend, but I will be catching up with you all later, and of course, with those of you in Vegas next weekend.

Ah, l'amor!! :D

Congratulations!!

I'm excited for you.

You have a few things going for you that most people don't:

1. You are very introspective

2. You have had plenty of time to think about this

3. You are a generous and caring person (I can tell from your posts)

4. You don't have any children. Don't get me wrong - I love kids - have one of my own I wouldn't trade for the world - but they do tend to complicate relationships.

5. You are willing to make some basic changes in your home to accomodate your SO (nice work on the patio!)

We'll look forward to hearing from you after your 'honeymoon' :)

I'm so excited for you

Have fun for the next few days cause its underwear on the floor and his crap all over the place after that. Have him buy his own toothpaste, that way you won't have to re-squeeze the tube. (I'm always rolling my up and Billy folds his in half) LOL Did I scare you?

Make it a habit to get your back rubbed every morning and visa versa.

The best of Luck and have Fun:banana

I'm sure you'll be great together.

How exciting Donali!!! I am happy for you. Let us know how it is going once you both are settled and getting into a normal routine. Since I am in a long distance relationship now that I hope will eventually lead to marriage, I am curious to find out if anything changes once you are living together.

Take care and have fun!

I'm SOOO jealous!!:cry :cry :cry

LOL, actually, I was married over 20 yrs. I do miss the closeness and the companionship and well.. yea, I miss sex darnit, but I don't miss dirty socks or having to always let someone know where you're going to be or rushing home from work if I'd rather go out to eat with friends or locking my doors and catching a plane to Vegas when I want. Everything is a trade off, I suppose. Ahh, the days of reciprocal backrubs... sigh..

Donali, I am so glad for you both. Of course it will be an adjustment, but you are realistic, smart and in love. This combination makes for success. Best wishes for a life of happiness.

Denise;)

You guys are so great! :)

Last night was wonderful - I just about felt like busting out of my skin, the joy of seeing him at the airport, and knowing that he was coming HOME. He said I was glowing... lol

Everything was so warm and comfortable, and I could tell he was really happy being here, too.

He was duly impressed by the porch... :D

I'll keep everyone posted!! :D

Congratulations Donali!

I'm sure you will both go through an adjustment phase... BUT... the only way to avoid change is to stay the same... yuck! You both have waited a long time for this... enjoy having a snuggle buddy... just in time for winter!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
