All sleevers 3 years out or more

How are your portions?

How is maintenance?

Is anyone revising to the DS or Gastric Bypass?

Anyone struggling with significant regain?

I feel like I am stuck trying to lose 10 pounds that I have gained since I made goal.... I have had success with the 8 hour diet plan...But my willpower is about zero right now.

I am bummed, I want to lose my 10 of regain plus 10 more. I am pretty determined just want to know where others are at this far out. Don't be shy!

Any thoughts/ input are welcome.

I am 3+ years and at goal

I weigh myself daily.

I have a two pound bounce.

If i exceed that, I cut back on Snacks, check to make sure I'm drinking enough fluids, and choose low calorie Proteins.

I am active but not an exercise fanatic.

Clear the crap out of the house, stock up on low cal favorites, join a weight loss challenge here and weight and measure food..

@ Game of Sleeves....I am also struggling with a 8 lb weight gain....I reached my goal weight of 135 after one year of being sleeved but now bounce between 139-142 even though I am very active. Am trying the 5:2 diet and hopefully that will work. I also have a FitBit which I am obsessed with and am usually always over 10K a day in my steps. Plus I live in Amsterdam so we walk or bike everywhere. Still, can't seem to get it off. Portions are very good but I do snack on things I shouldn't. I can eat anything but rice.

@Lynda.....wow. You and I are so similar! I used to live in San Jose (like you), I started at 223, goal 135 (like you), and was also sleeved in 2011. And although you don't say your age, I am also retired and our birthdays are one day apart! Interesting.

So stay tuned.....this week I am recommitting myself. I cannot and will not gain this weight back. My life has been too wonderful since I lost 83lbs.

Wow Queen of Crop, we are similar! But you are much more adventurous in moving to a different country! I love the Bay Area but often wonder what it would be like to live somewhere so different. I don't even consider moving out of the Bay Area. So spoiled with the weather, people, food, arts, and natural beauty here.

I do love San Francisco, but with all due respect, if I never go back to San Jose again, that would be fine with me. For us, living in Europe and particularly in Amsterdam is a dream, we don't have (or need) a car, we walk or bike or tram everywhere and the cultural charm of this city is beyond amazing. But I will admit, the Bay Area does have great weather!

Congratulations on keeping your weight in check. You have inspired me.

3 1/2 years out.... at one point I gained 22 pounds.... had not reached goal yet but close. I then got it off, and have been in maintinance for about 7 months. (It took me around 3 years to get to goal) I have a 3 pound bounce range, do pop over the top now and then, get back on track by 5:2 style fasting a day or two a week I work out 4-5 days a week... walking, dancing, kayak and/or gardening.

I can eat LOTS more...when i want more I eat more fruits and veggies... and dont forget the Protein. My will power comes and goes, I weigh every day, and post everything I eat 95% of the time every day... I take my Vitamins and did this as a vegetarian. When I pop out of the "zone" its because of too much junk... full sugar cake, Cookies, pizza.... I can eat healthier versions of these in moderation and maintain.

Not eating at night is one key thing for me. I really have to watch what I eat. I regained 15 between year 3 and 4 and took it off with 5:2. I managed to keep it off for a year, but now I am struggling again. I find if I eat anything extra, I gain.

It's a constant battle. Once I get into fasting, it gets way easier, It's really hard at first though, but it definitely works and gets rid of carb cravings. When we say fasting, we aren't talking not eating anything. Fast days are very low calorie days though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
