Welcome Veronica: Hey where is Archie, Jughead and Betty? Or am I showing my age here?

Anyway, I was banded on the same day as you and Michelle, April 6, 2004 by Dr. Lopez at Sanoviv Medical Institute in Rosarito, Mexico.

I go for my second fill tomorrow. Keep up the GREAT work and see ya around.

Welcome Veronica! I think you'll find this the most informative, educational, entertaining and supportive site there is. These folks are true gifts for those of us new to banding. I wouldn't be banded now if it werent for this site. I'd still be researching wondering if I could actually do it.

So pull up a chair and sit a spell!

Hi Veronica How are you doing? Getting excited about your fill? Hopefully the 2nd fill will make a big difference for you. I know it did for me. Just dont get filled to tight since you live out of state. I would hate for you to have problems once you get home and have to come back for an unfill. Remember sometimes a fil lcan take a week or 2 to kick in. Don't be alarmed if you do not feel immediate restriction. Good Luck to you, let me know how it goes and you can call me anytime

I AM so excited! I am seriously counting down the days. I am sure my husband will try sending me this week if I keep reminding him how many days are left. I finally lost the pound and a half I put on for being bad last weekend.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
