CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted May 30, 2014 Congrats! Are you on his Facebook group? It is a great way to get so many details and hear about others experiences. It is only open to people who have a scheduled date with the good doctor. I am 6 months post plastics and couldn't be happier with my results and the experience. 3 deedadumble, betty_s and BeagleLover reacted to this

Not on the Facebook group yet, but that's on my list of things to do. I've devoured everything in the Obesityhelp forum. Your experience was a huge influence on my decision as well as the extremely detailed reports on the forum. I went to MX for my sleeve and had a wonderful experience. Hoping for the same with plastics. I know it's going to be a difficult few months and I think I'm ready for it.

ladykatie_ 117 Posted May 30, 2014 Is any excess skin surgery covered by insurance?
deedadumble 1,033 Posted May 30, 2014 Nope. Not covered by insurance. I'm not having any skin issues.
deedadumble 1,033 Posted June 3, 2014 Bought my plane ticket and scheduled labs. Trying to decide whether to get implants or not. I have a D cup right now, but will probably end up with a B after the lift. Since I run I don't think I want to deal with the bounce, but don't really want to be smaller. CGJ - did you lose your hair again with plastics? Mine has just started thickening up again.
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted June 3, 2014 I did not lose hair.. and I really focused on Protein to help with healing 1 deedadumble reacted to this
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted June 3, 2014 @ladykatie_ some insurance will cover plastics after WLS if you are having issues or your tummy hangs to a certain degree... I have yeast infections under my tummy and breasts if I am not careful...even being out in the heat... when I come in, I have to be sure to do a full wipe down or it breaks out again... I have reported this issue to my doctors, so that IF I am covered, I have documentation! 1 deedadumble reacted to this
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted June 3, 2014 I had a lot of skin but no rashes and it could be held in with island so didnt interfere with exercise etc....No insurance for me either even though I lost massive weight. It really transformed me though and helped make me feel normal. I am no longer a deflated obese person...just look normal. 2 deedadumble and BigGirlPanties reacted to this
deedadumble 1,033 Posted June 10, 2014 Surgery is in six weeks and I'm starting to get nervous. EKG and labs all came back ok, but my PCP wants me to see a hematologist because I found out last fall that I have several homozygous MTHFR genetic mutations. Although I've had 6 surgeries without problems the MTHFR can predispose me for blood clots. She wasn't comfortable advising me so I have to see the hematologist. My PCP also agreed to write me a script for Percocet to take in case of pain. The docs in Mexico won't prescribe narcotic pain meds.
LilBoo007 491 Posted June 10, 2014 Good luck! It will fly by !!
deedadumble 1,033 Posted June 26, 2014 Less than 4 weeks left. The hematologist has cleared me for surgery, as well as my rheumatologist, PCP, endocrinologist, and psychologist. My therapist is finally on board, although not happy that I'm going to Mexico. I've increased my Protein by 30g a day and I'm adding a few core workouts a week. Also added another 8ou of Water and switched to a better Multivitamin. I want to go into surgery as healthy as possible. Bought my spoiled rotten dog stairs so I won't have to lift him into my bed! Trying to go a few weeks without carrying him anywhere so he can get use to it. Started my packing list. I found a good YouTube video that showed most of the things I should bring. The only thing I'm really getting anxious about is being away from my son for 12 days. 1 BigGirlPanties reacted to this
tmartin87_05 41 Posted June 27, 2014 Congrats! I'm also considering Dr Sauceda. Are you traveling there alone or is someone going with you?
deedadumble 1,033 Posted June 27, 2014 I'm traveling alone. Not too worried about it as I'm pretty self-sufficient.
