Tummy tuck yesterday

Recommended Posts

Had my band place 6-13-13.yesterday I had full Tummy Tuck. Met my goal weight a coule of months aga and holding steady.. So far sp good- no unbearable pain. Just feels like I have just gone done doing an abs workout. Hoping it stay that was! Keeping pain meds in every. 4 hours. Can anyone make any suggestions for making the healing process easier or anything I might want to have on hand? I have 2 drains placed that will be removed I pin a week.

did they have to give you an unfill and move your port? i'm 3 weeks post-op receiving the lap-band, hoping for not too much excess skin, but i'm curious about how the TT goes.

congrats on your success!

My surgeon required Fluid removed. I can have place back in a couple of weeks. Insurance did not cover it. I paid 6150- for full tuck. Muscle repai mad lip0- he did give me a professional courtesy discount since I'm in the medical field. Yesterday I felt great. Today a little sore when walking. But I'm keeping my meds in around the clock. Drains should be coming out Wednesday . I have yet to take the binder off- I'm not ready to do that just yet. I would like to give it time to,heal. Before looking. I can't shower until Sunday:(

Full TT 2005.....wear your binder and don't overdo even when you feel better. Remember, if yours was like mine, you have been opened like with a can opener...it takes time to heal inside...

So 15 days post op. I'm doing good. I have yet to experience any pain- thank goodness!!! Drains came out at 6 days. I went back at 13 days and they drained Fluid but couldn't get it all then when back at day 14 and they were able to drain a bit more. I have a follow up on day 20- said prob drain more. Be glad when swelling goes away. I wasn't prepared for that part of it. Pants don't fit like they did but I know it's temp. Was told to wear compression around clock to help with swelling. Also for anyone having this I was having a horrible time getting stood straight up again and when I went in at day 13 the nurse gave me the best trick ever! Toes touching wal and walk ur arms up to u feel a slight pull then hold and continue to ease ur way up and hold- I do this several times a day but I walked out of that office straight and it made a world of difference!!!! Hope it helps someone!!!! Some of my steristrips are starting to lift. Just looking forward to being back to normal:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
