farmgirl04 231 Posted May 30, 2014 Hi All, I was blown over last weekend! I saw a friend I hadn't seen since last summer. Its a summer community where we all grew up. It's been almost two years since my surgery. I'm down 110 pounds and in a size 4. So what did my friend say to me? "I saw a really fat woman swimming in the ocean and I was so worried you had gained back all the weight" did she say it once, which I guess I could deal with. No, she said it 3 times! It continues to stagger me how thoughtless people came be sometimes! 1 2muchfun reacted to this

Chelenka 827 Posted May 30, 2014 I've had one similar comment about regaining weight but not anywhere near as rude as that. At the time I felt as though the person was trying to put the gain-back whammy on me! I was very PO'd. If you see this "friend" again I would be very direct and say you find that sort of comment very offensive and on multiple levels. No need to be abrasive but she may just be clueless, and needs educationg. Congrats on your success! Own it!! 3 BeagleLover, dawalsh and Sparklingbeauty53 reacted to this
Sparklingbeauty53 202 Posted May 30, 2014 Oh, what part of that was susposed to make me feel good? lol x3
pink dahlia 2,513 Posted May 30, 2014 I second all the above comments ! I would of pointed out that she was being insenisitive and rude, but in a very polite way. If she said it again, I would ask her how she would feel if you made a rude comment out loud several times about HER body. Sometimes thats a game changer ! Also, she seemed more concerned that you might have gained the weight back then for your safety swimming in the ocean ! That part was rude too ! She sounds very unaware of how her running off at the mouth offends people ! That being said, congratulations on your weight loss, you should be very proud of yourself ! YOU ARE AWESOME !!!!!!!! 3 jfc193, BeagleLover and dawalsh reacted to this
ziggypbang 272 Posted May 30, 2014 Jealousy us an ugly green monster! There are people out there who only feel good about themselves, or at least less insecure, when they try to bring down those around them. This is why most of us hated junior high! 7 BeagleLover, jfc193, Travelmego and 4 others reacted to this

Sharpie 3,306 Posted May 30, 2014 You sometimes cannot fix Stupid but you can tell them to STFU. I am a very direct person and if anyone was that rude to me I would fix it. I have noticed that there are so many rude people in the world lately. I am amazed at how little these people care about other people's feelings. But, Karma is a B . 2 JustWatchMe and jfc193 reacted to this
