Drummergirl505 7 Posted June 4, 2014 The first three days were hell, but now on day 4 I am doing better. My emotions were all over. Fat stores hormones and losing weight has released them. God help my family & friends through this. Spreading out my Protein has helped, but I really struggle at night. I have two to three Protein shakes an 4-6 oz of meat with some leafy greens each day. Its hard to stick to but im doing my best. I am only able to drink 3-5 Protein Shakes per day and I can drink one cup of broth in place of a Protein shake if I want to. I am really feeling starving today, and when I tried to do some yard work I got very light headed. I keep telling myself--6 more days--I can do anything for one week right?? Anyone else having to do this strict of a pre op diet? Any suggestions to make it easier??
RedWilly 10 Posted June 6, 2014 Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I actually had surgery this past Tuesday on the 3rd. Even though I cheated Saturday and Sunday, my doc said the surgery went great. I'm not saying that would be the case for everyone. My I did make sure to only have Water Sunday through Monday night, then completely fasted until surgery at 2 on Tuesday. Without you guys guilting me into sticking to the diet I may not have been as good as I was. Lol. Anyway, I'm feeling great and headed back to work today! It's mostly a desk job and I can leave if I get tired. Good luck to all of you on the 10th!! 2 G2gomackenzy and Drummergirl505 reacted to this
MissHoot 5 Posted June 7, 2014 Only a few more days. Preop is going ok. I have the occasional oops, but for the most part am keeping to two shakes and a greek yogurt a day. I found when I ate things I had to chew I was more likely to try and cheat. I am now 1lb from my personal preop weight of 298. HW 334.

TLawre2 30 Posted June 8, 2014 I am scheduled for June 11th. I've been struggling with the liquids also. The first week was horrible I gave up cigs and food. My family didn't want to be around me not even my dog lol. It's a lot better now I just think about food. I have a baby shower today that I'm hosting, got to stay away from the cake. G2gomackenzy 3 Posted June 10, 2014 Hi all, I'm booked for June 27th and could not be more excited. I'm just finishing day 4 of my Optifast and feeling good. I feel so mentally ready that I believe everything will be good. I can't wait to ride the rides at the fair with my daughter!! It was a long process getting here but feel confident that the hospital takes that time to make sure you're ready for it. Yippy yay, 18 more days!! 1 mtibodo2 reacted to this

G2gomackenzy 3 Posted June 10, 2014 Day 5 of the liquid diet now and the only time I find it tough is when I'm making my daughter her supper. I think I'm lucky as I don't have to cook for the whole family. Hubby works evenings and our 17 year old is always out so I'm not as tempted but I tell ya, I heated up some Zoodles for my daughter and just by habit, I wanted to lick the spoon. I'm sure that wouldn't have done any harm but I'm set in my mind, 100% all the way. Then, of course, hubby comes home and starts eating chips in bed, ahhaha. He is great and supportive because if that did bother me, those chips would have been thrown out the window!! hahah. Anyways, I was down 11.1 pounds this morning, Day 5. Doing good. I even had my husband do my "before" pictures last night. Scary I tell you, from all angles. Can't wait for the "after" and "progress" pictures to come. All the best everyone
