Moxy 58 Posted May 29, 2014 Im finding the stuff i have been eating is not filling me up. this has been happening the past couple weeks. i dont feel like im over filling or that im uncomfortable. Is it normal around this time to feel like you can eat more? im still at about 800-900 calories a day, still making the right choices. i find that after i drink a large amount of Water i feel really hungry. still getting between 60-70 grams of Protein a day. i just don't want to start going down a bad path of taking in too many calories. James Marusek 5,244 Posted May 29, 2014 It looks like you are making good progress after the surgery. Eventually you will hit the bottom of your weight loss. When that happens you will shift from a weight loss mode to a maintenance mode. In maintenance mode you can allow yourself some extra calories. I reached my bottom weight at 7 months post-op at 160 pounds. I am now in maintenance mode. I weigh myself each morning and maintain my weight between 160.0 and 162.0. I don't look at a few extra calories as bad unless it puts me outside my range. Some things will trip me outside my range, like sweet corn on the cob. So it is a bit of experimentation that teaches me to refrain from some foods.
Chelly 364 Posted May 29, 2014 If I understand what happens to the pouch to be correct then the pouch goes from golf ball size to the size of an egg just after six months. So therefore you can eat a little more then you used to. I am eight months out and at times I can eat more then usual and sometimes I can't at all. If you are real concerned then contact your nutritionist about this.
Baconville 578 Posted May 30, 2014 Also between six and eight months the nerves around the pouch that signal hunger begin to completely heal and function again. It signals the end of that 'honeymoon' phase when you eat because it's part of your plan but not necessarily because you are hungry. By the way, I am just past 11 months and have lost weight every week up until now. I hit a stall about two weeks ago. I may have hit my bottom weight, but I am still working my plan until I know for sure that I am done.
