I'm still here, but just like @@Debbie3sons said been busy working and on the site all around. Sometimes this thread gets lost in my feeds.

How is everyone been doing? Any big fall plans? I think we have a Lunar Eclipse going on today, not that I can see it from where I am, but you can "feel" it in the air. Crazy...weather; people; the whole gambit! Just in time for Halloween!!!!

Anyone plan on dressing up? Having a party? Avoiding the office candy bowls?

Hi,

I am still here. I can't find the link except on my email.

Updates. My birthday was Saturday, Yom Kipper, and I wanted to see Ron White not go to the Break The Fast at the fancy country club. So of course I lost. Being my birthday I started something new last year, buying myself a big ass cup cake at Montellios Bakery. They are south of Boston but are very famous for making all the president's cakes. So I pulled into the parking lot in front of my son and didn't even notice him. He is saying to his wife, WTF is she doing here. He surprised me with the most wonderful huge chocolate cake with chocolate mousse layers . OMG!! He did great. He got permission from our cousin (she invites us to the CC). It was wonderful. Still wish I saw Ron White. I love his humor.

So how is everyone doing? Thursday night is walk a at Boston Common for LLS. One of my DILs is a leukemia survivor. The weather says no rain!!

Everyone have a great week and a super Hump Day tomorrow.

Arlene

Just a thought of you who are planning or going to Halloween Parties you pretty much know how to handle being around the alcohol or sweet wouldn't it be a treat to take a cake or food or something that is sugar free or healthy no one else has to know but since it will be about Halloween why not make ants on a log you know celery with penutbutter or make and a few raisins. or deviled eggs with sliced green olives with pimento in the middle for the eyes or what version ay be , now that we have these options, have fun and not worry or your favorite kind of dip modified your way , besides you dancing , talking and mingiling and moving not to even think about what can I have , that these next Holidays will be even more enjoyable than they have been in the past.

I'm planning on dressing up but still deciding on a costume. I just went to a costume store after my LapBand appointment. Nothing to choose from that I liked. I was so optimistic because I'm more than 90 pounds less than I was the last time I wore a costume. I'm still in the plus size category and I'm so sick of robes.

I hear the hot thing this Halloween is the 20's flapper and of course Frozen????

I used to be able to think of great costumes. I will have to think about it this year. This is my favorite Halloween photo. I was the first mate close to my highest weight ever but I think I looked dam good!

I really like this thread and Lisa I like the first mate costume!

No candy or ice cream in this house. It sings like a siren and I weakly answer.

I probably could pull that costume out and have it taken in a bit :) Ken was the skipper and you can see how we both changed since then.

The first year we went to our friends party he was Dr. Love and I was the nurse. I have to tell you that those were pretty easy costumes to create. I went to the local Work N Gear and bought a set of scrubs for him and a Dr.'s Lab coat for myself. Bought some accessories in the local party store and walla! (Let me tell you that year the costumes were prophetic I had a 102 fever that whole night and the flu for a week later!)

When your plus size sometimes costumes can be harder to find, but if your creative you can make and be anything! Halloween is my holiday, I loved having the crazy scary parties back in the day WAY back in the day my cousins and I would create a Haunted House when we lived in Queens. LONG before there were Haunted things everywhere you looked! We didn't charge we just let the kids walk through and boy did we put on a show! From the outside as you walked up to Spiderman in the and Batman on the steps to the witch that opened the door and let you into the porch a scene from Rosemarie's baby complete with black bassinet, evil baby and all.

We had animitronic dummies that moved and real people like "us" hidden in the midst dressed up like monsters and gouls. Strobe lights and fog machines it was like a universal studios set and what a load of fun to create!! Here are some fun photo's that I could find to share...some from WAY back scary!

Hi everyone . Glad you are all here. I need to be back on here. Life has been crazy In good and bad ways. Super overwhelmed and lost track of my clean eating and having hard time getting back on track. Going for a much needed fill next week and using that time as a reset. I will try and detox during the liquid phase I refuse to let a year plus of clean eating been ruined due to poor choices. I did not get this done to back slide. Mad at myself that I'm

Not losing as I should. Is it a stall maybe but the last few weeks I definitely could of made better choices. Had a reality check today and instead of ruining me I said efe it back to working on me eating clean and working out . Although I never deviated from the gym I feel the workouts are getting harder and my breathing is more swallow when I run. Maybe I'm getting sick who knows.

Super bad day but I'm coming here to seek comfort n not some poor food choice.

Just having a really really sucky day professionally and personally digging deep to get through today. Looking forward to some quiet relaxing alone time tonight. Hope a good night sleep will recharge me cause I don't like this cranky sad mess I am right now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
