Paula C. 6 Posted May 28, 2014 I had an upper GI today and was told I have a small hiatal hernia. I haven't met with the surgeon yet, but nurse practitioner said that he will probably want to do a bypass instead of the sleeve because of it. Anyone else heard this? I don't have any acid reflux and wasn't aware of the hernia. I really would rather have the sleeve. Anyone have the sleeve when diagnosed with hiatal hernia and have problems with reflux? greatmommaof4 1 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Hi! I will be having the sleeve in June and have a large hiatal hernia. The surgeon and his team don't seem concerned. It's a 2 for 1 deal. I'm paying for the vsg and they will fix my hernia while in there for free! Edited May 28, 2014 by greatmommaof4
nickig2g 1 Posted May 28, 2014 I had two hernias and they weren't a issue. My recovery was probably a bit harder. I'm 5 weeks out now and feeling good! Good luck!
