I's love to join you guys, too. I've got kind of a complicated schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday with all of the back to school hoopla-- I teach second grade. I could do Tuesday after 4:00pm or Wednesday anytime before 3:00pm. Honestly, if another time works best for you all, I won't be offended if I can't make it. There's always next month ;)

I am available on Tuesday up until 12:30, when I would have to leave for my appointment, and then again after 2:30.

On Wednesday I am only available up until 12:30.

I just found out for sure my mom'f flight does not get in until 2:30 on Wed. So I could meet up until 2 and would then have to go, if we decide to meet up on Wed.

Tuesday is the same I can meet but would have to leave by 12:30, or I can meet later after 2:30.

Let me know.

Deana,

Where in Northern IL are you? My Dr practices out of Evanston Hospital, however has office hours in Vernon Hills and Gurnee (Last Tuesday of the month). They do not have a problem doing fills for Lap Band patient who had the surgery do else where. Dr Denham 847-570-4120 (Debbie will schedule your appointment). There is also a support group meeting tomorrow night for only Lap Band Patients at Highland Park hospital.

Welcome to IL. I am actually moving out of state to FL next week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
