Sonia, how's the new job???? Anyone want to do lunch this month? I am having a hysterectomy on the 30th, so I would really like to do lunch this month. I will be recovering in Aug, and on vacation in Sept. for 12 days. Let's try to do lunch soon. ~Mandy

Hi everyone.

I LOVE my new job! not sure if its mainlybecause its so not the old job! the people are nice - its a small small office so i still feel kind of awkward and like an outsider, especially sicne i'm not in my 20s and a thin blonde but....

i spent most of the week rganizing the event information and working on the list of companies to call. Friday i was working on my "script" for when i called the companies. i was getting frustrated w/ myself and just kinda swearing to myself. we used to swear ALOT at the old job. I realized i havent even heard someone say $hit so i figured i better find other ways to vent! at least til i hear other folks swear!

Mandy how long will you have to be in the hospital and recovering?

i think i am free on the 21st and the 28th for lunch.

have a great week everyone!

I will be in the hospital for at least 3 days. They are doing the surgery open, not lap so it will be a hard recovery. I can't drive for at least 2 weeks. I'm open any saturday, I have a babysitter on saturdays. My mom keeps Abi for me and they are in chruch on sundays. Let me know what works for everyone and I will make it happen. ~Mandy

I really don't mind if you guys do Sat. I will probably be exhausted on sunday anyway. I am doing 2 very long days of body piercing at a friends tattoo studio's grand opening. Stick with the 21st. I will find a way to make Aug happen. ~Mandy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
