Hi everyone! New to this site, and almost 3 weeks out from surgery :) Down 24lbs already and soo happy, but I think I am stalling this week :( and I'm afraid I'm not eating enough or eating to much. I can tell now when I am actually hungry and it seems like its to often. I am now on stage 3 of food and just getting bored of Farina lol, I actually ate ricotta for dinner last night just to try something different. I was wondering if anybody has any recipes for chicken or beef for pureed food, I have been craving pizza, Bagels, and burgers. So the least I can do is pretend it's a burger in puree form (YUCK! lol) PLEASE HELP! I am afraid I am going to cheat if I don't eat something with flavor soon. THANK YOU!!! :) ;) :P

You can puree chili and that might help. I never made it, but there are people who swear that a ricotta bake was just the thing. I think it's basically ricotta cheese topped with spaghetti sauce and some cheese.

When the flavor thing got to me, I made a home made onion Soup and strained (or later) blended the onion pieces. Really filling and great.

My other favorite thing to do was get refried black Beans and top with cheese.

Stalling at three weeks out from surgery is completely normal so don't worry about that.

For pureed food, take meat you like, puree it with a sauce you like (NOT Water or broth, gross and tasteless) and then heat it up in the microwave maybe with a little cheese melted on top. It will taste just like a casserole. What you make depends on what you like. But here are some that were favorites for me:
Thai spicy tuna with Sriracha sauce and pepper jack cheese

Lemon dill salmon with tartar sauce

Shrimp with buffalo sauce or remoulade

Ground beef with low carb BBQ Sauce and cheddar cheese

chicken with marinara sauce and mozzarella

Ranch flavor tuna with ranch dressing and swiss cheese

Sweet & spicy tuna with chipotle bbq sauce and a Laughing Cow Chipotle Queso Fresco wedge

Turkey with peanut satay sauce and jack cheese

I mostly just used meat from the little packets and cans that comes already cooked and flavored and just needs to be heated up. Stuff like the Starkist tuna packets. For beef I just used frozen precooked burger patties.

I did a lot of poached eggs on top of refried Beans with salsa, cheese, etc.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
