Teachamy 1,042 Posted May 28, 2014 I have had crab cakes post-op. They were fine for me. Just keep in mind most recipes call for bread crumbs, so you'll need to account for the carbs. If you make them yourself--even better! I ordered mine at a local restaurant. (Gluten free, baked.)

Teachamy 1,042 Posted May 28, 2014 Just realized though, that I believe I was 3 months out when I had them because I wasn't allowed shellfish right away. Not sure if that is true for all sleevers.
ziggypbang 272 Posted May 28, 2014 Wow, sounds delicious! But yes, I agree, I've always made then with bread or crackers, plus cornmeal or more breadcrumbs to coat the outside. Crab itself would be great, tho. I really love how gently many fishes and seafood land in my tummy.

ASKSARAH - Sleeve 256 Posted May 28, 2014 ABSOLUTELY!! This was one of my favorite meals during my soft food stage. I went ot Trader Joes and got lump crab meat not the imitation since it has sugar in it. I mixed it up with some mayo, some seasoning, salt pepper and a little spicy mustard, to the consistency of mixed tuna, make little patties in the palm of your hand, measure out if you really want to. I heated up some olive oil in a small pan and seared it till it was heated through and flipped and browned. Ate it super slow and it was SOOOO good. Eat and enjoy it!
