Timothy J. Esslinger 0 Posted May 28, 2014 I'm 6 weeks out of surgery and doing fine. What kind of nuts would be good to snack on? I like pistachios, peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, and sometimes smoked almonds. I know peanuts and beef Jerky are go-to's for some but what about the others? Thank You, Timmo

Postop 411 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) I eat all of those (except almonds but that's b/c I'm afraid for my teeth). I also like pumpkin seeds. Edited May 28, 2014 by Postop
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted May 28, 2014 I am five months out and eating nuts of all kinds. Almonds are a chore to chew, though. I am finding that even unsalted nuts are a slider food, though. They are like potato chips to me. An ounce of nuts can quickly turn in to a cup of nuts, so I freeze them now to make them a little less accessable. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
Ginger Snaps 1,323 Posted May 28, 2014 My NUT recommends almonds -- because they are so much harder to chew, it's hard to put more than 1-2 in your mouth at a time and you have to chew forever.
Sparklingbeauty53 202 Posted May 29, 2014 Chew, Chew, Chew and remember nuts are great sources of Protein but can be high calorie so do so in small quantities. I love nuts too. Almonds are harder to chew, that is true so I like the slivered ones. Watch out though, I had to wait to eat some as my first time was a reject.
ziggypbang 272 Posted May 29, 2014 Cocoa roasted almonds! I can count out 24 of them for 160 calories, and eat them on the way home from work, after I have finished my afternoon Protein Shake. I avoid salty nuts because they make me thirsty, which doesn't work with my tiny tummy! 1 BeagleLover reacted to this
