I have surgery tomorrow at 6:15 am!!! Eeeeeekkk i'm excited, nervous, scared, etc. I have so many emotions and thoughts running through my head. I'm terrified I won't be successful, due to the fact that I couldn't even do 1 week of pure Protein shakes:( I can't and won't back down now, but we'll see what happens. Wish me Luck!!

Take one day at a time and follow your doctors orders. This site is a great place for support. Keep checking in. Good luck tomorrow!

Good luck to you…..

The past is the past and you cannot correct your mistakes….look forward to tomorrow knowing that you WILL succeed and follow your doctors orders to a "T"…so that you heal properly and see the success you are looking for.

After surgery I always remembered why I really chose this route…it was the hardest decision I've ever made and one of the best. Not everyday is peaches and cream but I take it one day at a time and success has been on my side so far.

Remember no one is perfect. We just have to do what we can to be personally successful….for in the end, no one will be accountable for you BUT YOU!

Did your doctor prescribe anything for nausea? My dr sent a prescription for me to pick up before my surgery so I will have it the day I come home. I am so nervous. My biggest fear is the pain and nausea. Hope your doing well today.

Yikes! I have my pre-op tomorrow morning...I will definitely be asking about filling meds for the pain and nausea. A slippage scares me too. When I had my C-section with son, I threw up as soon as the anesthesea wore off. Also when we left the hospital, had to stop to fill the meds. The wait was excruciating. Want to be prepared. I hope you're feeling better, sweetie!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
