FayeJ 13 Posted May 27, 2014 I'm 5 days post op and am experiencing a bout of nausea. The doctor did not prescribe anything for it since I wasn't having a problem with it but what do you all take? I would call my doctor but it's 847pm and it's definitely not an emergency. Prior to surgery if I felted nauseated I would drink ginger ale, but that's not an option now. TIA. WildGrits 101 Posted May 27, 2014 sugar free Popsicles really help with nausea. I still use them occasionally for my upset stomach.

teacherlady2133 258 Posted May 27, 2014 I had nausea after surgery too and I had my dr call in suppositories. Yes I know???? but not having to swallow a pill was so worth it and it took care of the nausea quick. I Also use s/f popcicles for the upset stomach my theory is the cold takes it away.. All my drinks have to be super cold..
FayeJ 13 Posted May 29, 2014 Thanks for the support everyone. Called my nurse practitioner and she had something called into my local chemist (pharmacy). I used it last night. God-send.

I am struggling to maintain my Protein and Water intake I am just not able to take in 60grams of Protein whether in liquid or bar form. I too am 6 weeks out and nauseated most of the time. I saw my nutritionist today. She fears I'm not eating enough. I'm also having "gut" issues with a decent amount of diarrhea. She thinks that from a lack of Fiber. She suggest I move my Multivitamin and take it 45 minutes after eating. I had been taking them in the morning which might start my day off feeling so bad. She also wants me eating 2 oz of protein and 2 oz of fruit/veggie with every meal. Even if it takes me more than 25 minutes, she would like me to try to get it in. I have also been using saltines which seem to help some. I usually eat one about 30 minutes after my meal or when the nausea is unbearable. She told me this was fine and to continue doing this if it helps. 1 Rosetta2014 reacted to this
