GottaDoSomethin' 31 Posted May 27, 2014 I've seen so many wonderful before and after pics on this forum and none of them (even the shirtless ones) show any scars? Anyone care to weigh in on what scarring looks like after the sleeve? 1 msfitn2014 reacted to this
msfitn2014 248 Posted May 27, 2014 I have 5 incisions, 4 of them look like small pencil lines, i am lapband to sleeve and on my 5 incisions its a small 1/2 inch scar...im 6 weeks out and 4 of the incisions are almost gone, you can only see the 1/2 inch scar which is still small but noticeable... JanaAZ 16 Posted May 27, 2014 I am 3 1/2 months out and you can still see my scars. They are still red looking. I don't love them but haven't figured out how to get them to fade yet.
MAJIQUE 36 Posted May 27, 2014 I have had surgery before and the scars healed very good but I'm VERY concerned this time.... I'm afraid I may be getting those raised keloid scars at the small incision sites... I hope these are internal stitches that will dissolve but I am really worried. Those scars are horrendous and if I need plastic surgery later for lose skin, I could REALLY he screwed. I am worried.

Those scars are horrendous and if I need plastic surgery later for lose skin, I could REALLY he screwed. I am worried. I had surgery on my foot when I was 19 and you can't see the scar. I had my sleeve at 40 and I got keloid scars. . I guess maybe you're more prone to them as you age? I don't know. I was originally thinking of maybe someday getting plastic surgery, but what's the point if I'm going to get scars like these?
MAJIQUE 36 Posted June 2, 2014 I am now at 2 weeks post and I still have one terrible spot... I hate to even touch it but the others seem like they are going to get better. I am sure there are stitches underneath. I hope they dissolve any everything heals nicely. I still feel like the surgery is healing very well and I am not sick but I need the skin to heal too. Forsythia 882 Posted June 2, 2014 Mine look like someone took a little kinfe point to me in four places - they are all horizontal and mostly just look a little bit like my cat attacked me or something. The 5th is longer, a true veritcal incision, and right above my belly button and very hard to see. I have a previous scar on my abdomen below my belly button from exploratory surgery when I was 6. It is very long and noticeable and is the reason why I would never ever get a bikini, even if I were down to goal weight.

Stacy Smith 0 Posted January 28, 2017 Does anyone have problem with painful incisions? I'm 7 months out and only one of the incisions has pain. Waking me up pain. The same incision had to be opened up 2 weeks after because of how it clotted or didn't clot. Now I'm concerned that there is an open area underneath possibly. Its been tender but the pain just started. Its Friday night, don't think this is ER material. Any advice or similar stories would be appreciated.
