Premier Protein - chocolate. Love them. I get them at Sam's club or Costo. I use to like the vanilla but it's very sweet. Sometimes I do 1/2 and 1/2. The best part is they are 30 grams of Protein and 11 oz of Fluid :)

I am doing my pre-op diet and found some shakes that I love, I just hope and pray that I'll still like them after surgery.

Muscle Milk Pro Series 40g Protein for 14 oz and I love the chocolate Mint

Oh Yeah! 32 g protein for 14 oz, banana creme is the best!!

These aren't cheap, like almost $3 a bottle, but you can order them from Amazon.com in a case of 12.

I liked the Premier Protein, but then I got a case that had to be returned, as it got real thick and chunky... turned me off to that brand.

Just remember the cost of convenience is expensive. If you buy a shaker bottle and mix your Protein with milk or Water depending on the flavor you get the protein and a cost savings that believe me will add up in the long run and we are all in this for the long run right?

Chunky ??? I drink premiere every day never had a chunky one . U can thin it with 2% milk . I add strawberry , caramel or coconut flavoring to the vanilla ones . I love the chocolate but the vanilla is really sweet for my taste.

I'm with you. Post surgery I'm still not a big Breakfast eater, so I like to have a stash of ready made Protein Drinks ready to go to drink in the car in the morning. At now 6 weeks out, I'm growing tired of the vanilla premiere Protein i prefer. Now I take a sip to make room in the container and add a few splashes of sugar-free Torani Syrup to make different flavors. The cherry was delish! The premiere protein is 160 calories and 30 grams of protein. I liked the Isopure low-carb pre-made pre-surgery, but now I think it has a funky after taste and its only 17 grams of protein. Many people don't realize they are adding a lot of extra calories and carbs when they make their powered Protein Shakes in the blender with fruit, Milk and misc. ingredients. Before you know it, it could end up being a 500 calorie drink!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
