I think it's normal to be nervous and remember you are not alone . We are all kind of in the same boat and we can all support one another to get through it together .

I was just sleeved June 9th! This has been a journey for sure, I'm looking forward to the outcome! The pain is pretty much gone in about 3 days!!! I didn't take any pain meds when I came home, and I usually don't like pain so that tells you it's not that bad! I'm in the process of knowing when to eat and not because I never feel hungry! But I know I have to get my liquids and Proteins. I think this is the toughest part, definitely life changing!

Thank you so much for sharing with me how you felt after the surgery , it really is comforting . I guess as time goes on and you get used to your new sleeve eating will become a little easier . I heard it's difficult in the beginning to get in all the Protein .

It's been 6 weeks since surgery & I've had trouble getting in my Water. It takes me about 6 hours to drink 12oz bottle water. I also found it much easier to get my Protein in eating Protein Bars. I'm using a plan called Lean Meal. They make Protein Shakes. I also froze the shakes in ice pop molds & it's easier to eat a Fudgsicle or banana cream pie pop made from the shakes. Easier then having to drink them. I'm also eating regular food & I'm full from 2-3 small bites. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I'm a newbie to the sleeve although not to WLS. I will be having lapband to sleeve revision surgery June 23rd. I am so nervous about the possibility of my doctor finding a lot of scar tissue left over from the lapband. I'm just really ready for it to be over already so I can stop worrying.

Why is it so hard to get Water or liquids down? This is the only part I don't get. Can somebody that's been sleeved please explain this?

I wish I knew. It takes me about 6 hrs to drink 1 bottle of Water. I stay a little dehydrated only pee like twice a day. I just had kidney function test done. Feel pretty run down & tired. I'm fixing to have IV fluids.

Iam also struggling with acid reflux started 2nd week. It hit hard. I gagged & Dry-heaved for weeks. I'm 6 weeks out & just now able to eat very small amounts of food. I'm ready to cross the next stage & start feeling better. Not so tired

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
