I was allowed ice cream, but I wouldn't start eating it again until I was back eating a substantial amount of calories. You'll need to eat the most nutritious food you can get, at first, to recover and heal. And if you're eating sugar free ice cream, it is probably going to contain sugar alcohols, sugar alcohols were very hard on my new stomach.

Can you have it? Sure. Should you have it? NO! sugar free ice cream is still loaded with simple carbohydrates. It is empty calories that will slide right through your pouch. With that being said, if you can handle eating a spoonful or two on occasion, I don't see the harm. On the other hand, If it's a binge food, steal clear from the frozen foods isle!

I would suggest staying away from things like that. It's not nutritious in any way.

Oikos makes a frozen Greek Yogurt - I put a couple of tablespoons in my shakes to thicken them up. It's a lot of calories though...a serving size is 150 calories for 1/2 cup. Protein is decent in the frozen Greek yogurt, but lots and lots of carbs. I'm not a carb policer, but I try to use them wisely.

There are 100 calorie ice creams out there. If you feel comfortable eating one of those and not four of them....then you should be OK. But remember...it's a treat and has to be something you eat once in a while, not all the time. Good luck!
