Do you not like your Protein shakes?

I've been using Jay Robb whey Protein powder with Stevia and I really like it.

It smooth and not gritty at all. It has 25 grams of Protein in each serving and if you use skim milk that will add another 8 grams of protein.

I add to it Torani sugar free syrups made with Splenda. They come in many, many flavors.

You can buy Jay Robb at Whole Foods, directly from the company or Amazon.< /p>

You can buy Torani sugar free syrups from the company directly or if you have World Market in your area they carry them too.

Good luck in finding something you like.

You can also use unflavored Protein Powder in many different foods like Greek Yogurt, sugar free pudding, even mashed potatoes. Be creative. It mixes better with cold foods. I used Unjury and it worked well for me. I would also encourage you to try several types of shakes, you might hit on one that works.

At 5 weeks out I was getting more Protein from food with Protein added then with just shakes. I got an unflavored whey protein powder and added it to most things I ate. I added it to hot tea and Soups. I added chocolate protein to my cream of wheat. I got a lot of protein from greek yogurt, cottage cheese and refried Beans at 5 weeks out also. I also enjoy Muscle Milk Light (chocolate) as a source of protein. I'll have one at night if I calculate my numbers and I'm deficient in calories or protein.

I also use Muscle Milk light but if you don't like mike I suggest Syntrax Nectar, there have several flavors but I love the fuzzy navel fruit flavored. I blend it with ice and make a smoothie.

I too hate shakes. Have you tried getting cottage cheese? When I was stage one my diet was mostly Chiobani 100 yogurt, cottage cheese, creamed Soup and milk. I could not choke down the whey products.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
