snowkitten 371 Posted May 26, 2014 I just got all my preop testing done and the way my health care is set up I'm able to view my lab test results online. I'm concerned the surgeon will deny me because a few of them. The two I'm most concerned about is the hpylori and ptt (blood clotting) test. My hpylori is positive and my ptt came back low (just barely). Has anyone had experience with either of these results and were u still able to get the sleeve? 1 TheRealMeIsHere! reacted to this
TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted May 26, 2014 I had positive H Pylori, they said that most people have it, that's why they test for it. It can cause ulcers. They treat it, then you are good to go. I'm sure there are also meds for the PTT, something opposite of a blood thinner maybe?? 1 snowkitten reacted to this
snowkitten 371 Posted May 26, 2014 I was hoping that would be the case. What did they do to treat the hpylori for you? 1 TheRealMeIsHere! reacted to this
QueenA 122 Posted May 26, 2014 I was diagnosed with H pylori and prescribed an antibiotic treatment but it was too close to surgery to start it. It wasn't a show stopper for surgery. I'll start it in a few weeks. As for clotting issues, I've had 2 PEs and a DVT in the past so I was put on a bridge therapy prior to surgery. I was taken off my Coumadin 5 days before and switched to lovenox daily. I am still on it for 4 weeks post op so 2 more weeks to go. Just talk things over with your surgeon. They'll know what to do :-)
