Maybe your body is adjusting? I lost 16 pounds the first week and did well for the first few months. After 6 month mark I noticed it slowed and after a year weight loss was non-existent. If your not getting enough fluids your weight wont come off very fast. Good luck!

What is your definition of losing "very slow"? It seems like sometimes people have unrealistic expectations of how much they will lose.

Could you be eating too much? I guess it is possible, but hard to say since we don't know how much you are eating. How many calories a day are you getting? How many grams of carbs and Protein? BTW I seriously doubt you are eating too much, but you can't know unless you know how much you are taking in.

If you are a slow loser . . . embrace it and keep working your program. I was a slow loser but a steady loser, only one "stall" in almost a year. I just kept plugging away and am now not too far from goal even though I started out at a BMI of 60. Even us slow losers get there eventually, I promise!

Yes not sure what you mean by slow. My sleeve was on April 3rd. Started at 272, as of this morning I'm at 244. I've seen people lose more and some less.. Everyone is different. As long as your weight continues on the downward slope, you ARE succeeding !!! Be happy !! :)

I consider my weight loss to be slow. I was 255 when I started this journey back in August 2013. On the day of surgery 4/8/13 I weighed 224. Today I weigh 199. So I'm looking at a 25lb loss in 7 weeks. I had a stall at 3 weeks that lasted for about 2 weeks and I've lost about 1 to 1 1\2 lbs since.

One problem I have is Water or Fluid intake. I have never been a heavy drinker. A coffee in the morning and maybe 2 more glasses of something throughout the day be it tea crystal light or Water.< /p>

Right now I am getting in 32 oz. Lemon herbal tea per day (someone please comment on the tea, is this OK, too much....), 8 to 16 oz. Crystal light, and about 10 oz. Liquid Protein.

But today I am going to up my liquids even if I have to gag! Lol.lol. problem is have never been a heavy water drinker or pop juice. I like Hot drinks year round. But on the plus side. Ihave dropped 2 dress sizes. I return to work on Tuesday. I had the hernia repair and I do a little heavy lifting at work so my Dr. Gave me 6 weeks off, no strenuous exercise. So I'm sure once I get back to work, and able to do more of a work out I will see more results.

My Doctor told me to concentrate on nutrition and the weight will come off. He's had me on the south beach diet pre op. So now I am following phase 1 of southbeach. Good Luck!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
