Wendy's Chili is pretty good. So are the Bean Burritos from Taco Bell.

For me, fast food is OK as long as I don't eat it in the car. I eat too fast and take too big bites then. The chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A are pretty good, too. and they are easier to take slowly while negotiating traffic.

do you guys add your 2 week pre op weight loss to your total lost ??

I took the weight I weighed the very first time I went to my doctor to discuss the lap band and submit my approval for insurance - at that time it was 248. Since then, I'm down 60 lbs (weighed 188 this morning).

I was down around 15 to 20 lbs by the time my surgery came around, but I figure, I lost the weight with the band and some without the band. Either way, I lost it, I deserve credit. Thats my thinking - so count every darn ounce I've lost, because every pound that I've lost has taken real effort!

I eat Wendy's hamburger, lettuce, Tomato, etc. NOT THE BUN. I also eat taco's from Taco Bell - no too much of the shell. I have also had some Wendy's chili and ate the top off a pizza hut pizza. If you push the Protein portion of the meal it's not too bad. I haven't had bread for 4 months. I don't even eat whole wheat!! I do have to admit - I'm Italian, and would kill for a slice of Italian Bread, but I can't get it down - - so I am learning to live without it. I also feel that life is too short to deprive myself of foods that taste good - - there are recipes designed to take the "fat and calories" out of day to day foods, so I look for alternatives!!

Best of luck!

Yes, I have fast food on occasion. Not nearly as I did before. When I went to McDonals I got the fish sandwhich and some fries and Water. I ate half the sandwhich and about half the fries and later I drank my Water. It was less than 400 calories (it was lunch) and I had a light dinner that night anyway...

Then another time I had 1/3 of a taco bell crunch wrap supreme.

The other day I had wienersnitzel. 2 hot dogs lasted three meals-- that surprised me.

I just don't eat much now. I do have to be careful not to give in to the sugar monster sometimes (and that could work for junkfood in general). I'm supposed to not have more than 200 calories of sugary food a day, like ice cream. I can do that. I don't even eat it every day. But say I am tempted to have more-- I have to remind myself, no, you already had your amount. You can have more tomorrow. You have to eat veggies now. And since eating veggies can be satisfying now, I really don't mind trying to balance out my diet like that. So I figure as long as I within my calorie limits ad getting all my nutritional needs met, then yes, I can have "bad" foods sometimes. I wouldn't have gotten the band if I could never ever have them again. Well maybe I would have...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
