I am curious about that also. I thought I might try really thinned oatmeal when I go to Breakfast with my Water aerobics class. I will be 4 weeks out and not yet graduated from the full liquids stage.

I eat cereal from time to time! I really like Special K's Protein cereal. It has 10 grams of Protein per serving and is only 120 calories for 3/4 cup. It tastes kind of like Wheaties, but sweeter :)

Here's a link if you want to see what the box looks like:

I eat oatmeal from time to time and put Protein powder in it. It's great and was easy to eat when I transitioned to foods.

Cereal is a slider for me so I avoid it. I have been guilty of finishing off the last few bites of my son's Frosted Flakes from time to time, but its too carby for me to justify eating a whole bowl.

I am almost 2 months post op and I have had Special K hight Protein cereal a few times with soy milk. I eat like less than 1 serving which would be half a cup or less. And it's filling and taste decent. I don't miss the sugar ones at all. Try it out.

I've avoided cereal simply because it's so processed that they have to add things to it to make it taste good and shelf stable. I'm no purist, but in general, I try to avoid any prepared foods. Hmmmm...... now maybe it they could figure out how to make a cereal out of steak or hamburger. New from Kelloggs - Steakios, comes in two flavors, grilled hamburger or smothered steak. I'd try that. :-)

It eat the Special K Protein cereal also. It really does curb my appetite. I have it maybe twice a week. I only eat about half a cup (if that, sometimes I can't even finish the half a cup). The Special K Protein cereal is not a slider (for me). I actually get full from it, and I am still loosing weight (so far, went from a 20 to a 12). I switch off with different things for Breakfast so I don't get burnt out.

I like Kashi Go Lean or Fiber One Protein

I loved Kashi Go Lean prior to surgery - I ate it for years every single morning, because the fiber and Protein content is so high. I have tried it several times over the past 6 months since surgery (I think I still have the box I was eating during my pre-op diet - maybe time to clean ou the pantry?) but man that stuff expands like CRAZY once it hits my new tiny tummy. Feels like I just swallowed a bowling ball. I really only started incorporating starchy carbs into my diet in the past week: 5 wheat thins Fiber Selects with a Light Laughing Cow for an evening snack. It doesn't make me feels too full - just enough so I don't start grabbing for less healthy foods. I'm really happy eating Greek yogurt with fresh berries for Breakfast at this point, but maybe one of these days my formerly dear friend Kashi will be a part of my life again!

I have stayed away from Cereal because it's processed and it doesn't keep me satisfied long enough. I will have a bowl of Protein oatmeal - I use Health Wise Oatmeal, it has 15 grams of Protein.< /p>

Following my surgery, within 6 months, I was having a small bowl of oatmeal for breakfast with skim milk. When I am traveling, rather than having my usual smoothy, that is my go to food. At home, I tend to have my smoothy. But, I don't think there is a problem with oatmeal. My surgeon's office recommends Cream of Wheat in the full liquids part of the healing!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
