I weighed myself and the scale showed I gained 6 lbs. I don't eat much, barely 4 ounces. I eat healthy, when I can eat. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I can see I lost weight, I wear a size 18 - 20. I was wearing 24. I don't want to gain back the weight.

Do you take your measurements?

I try to do that the first Sunday of every month. Remember that mussel weighs more then fat. If you are exercising with weights, this could be the issue.

Have you been getting all of your fluids? Have you has a BM recently?

I don’t mean to be personal; just spiting out ideas. Any one of these could be a reason for weight gain.

Don’t stress too much and let it derail you.

A suggestion to you, forget the scales, forget the measurements. Take photos every 4 weeks, front, back and side view. Trust me u will be shocked with the transformation. Try and get your partner or someone to take it with you in the same or similar underwear each time. It also sounds to me that you are not eating enough, your body could be holding in and storing. A females weight can vary +- 5lbs depending on hormones, periods etc. it's true muscle does weigh more than fat but saying that, a femAle could only gain 4-5lbs muscle in a whole year, and to be gaining muscle you would need to be eating a lot of food, mainly Protein. scales lie, don't worry about it

Check to make sure you're not letting those pesky simple carbs sneak back into your diet (the crackers, chips, breads, etc, etc, etc). Seems a lot of us at one time or another along the way encounter this and it is often a reason for weight gain.

Good luck in getting a grip on what's going on. You are being proactive and that's the important thing.

I can't eat breads nor do I desire to. I worry about how little I eat. I just don't know what my stomach will like. I do throw up when I try to eat something new. I seem to be OK with mushie foods, but not much else. I am getting tired of eating the same thing.

Your surgery wasn't that long ago, not even a full month so don't be too hard on yourself or overly worried about what you can and can't eat just yet. I couldn't take in much in the first month now almost 3 months out I can eat almost everything. You could simply be retaining Water.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
