You know the song....Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air... That is my life's theme song lately.

Well, every time I eat I get severe chest pain from trapped air. My nutritionist, surgeon and family doctor say it's all related to me swallowing air when I eat or drink. I had hiatal hernia repair with my VSG.

I have tried everything....
.....eating tiny bites
......chewing until my jaw falls off
......eating with toddler fork & spoon
.....not drinking out of straw

The only time I don't have the problem is when I have all liquid diet. I can't be on that forever.

I'm almost 3 months post op. Highest weight was 400 pounds 8/2010. Surgery weight was 345 pounds on 3/4/2014. Current weight is 310 pounds. I haven't lost anything in 10 days. Feeling very frustrated. I'm getting about 60grams of Protein and 600-900 calories.

Now I'm back to having air bubble pain (singing Jordin Sparks) and taking Gasx like candy.

Can anyone relate? How long will my stall last? Is a home electronic scale very accurate?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
