what can YOU not eat?

Recommended Posts

I am fearful of steak so I haven't even tried it at all. I find thick breads are hard, so I eat wraps a lot. I find mid day meals are hard sometimes. It all depends how I have eaten throughout the day. If I have eaten my Snacks and meals, dinner usually have no problems. I also found ground beef (hamburger meat) was horrible as well. So read meats have not been in my diet for a while now. I heard it was great for the arteries anyway. I have no problems w/ chicken (unless really dry). I love seafood as a great food to eat and chicken if made properly. I don't have any problems w/ lunch meat if I chew properly.

I havent had a fill yet, I can eat anything and everything, I dont even have to take small bites or chew alot! (very unfortunate) I havent lost a bit of wieght, I can still eat the same size portions as before, I am thinking I made a mistake with this surgery, I get my first fill on 06-06-07 hopefully this will change the amount of food I can eat at one seating.!!!

Once you get fills you will become more restricted. I had a girlfriend that had the same problem. She got more fills --problem solved. I have only had two fills and feel very well restricted. Once you get a fill there may be some adjust time. It usually take me a week to get adjusted to the new fill. good luck!!

I'm like alot of people who have had the surgery. I can't tolerate breads but can eat a couple of wheat thin crackers or pita chips. I can also eat chicken, hamburger, fish, and hot dogs but can't tolerate beef or pork. It just depends on each individual

I cannot eat eggs, chicken, bread, rice, Pasta, donuts, chips (except cheese puffs), raw onions or bell peppers, turnip greens, oatmeal...and the list goes on.

When I think about all of the things I cannot eat it remionds me of a comment I read on here one time......"My band sometimes lets me know who's the boss" I have found that when I eat certain things I slime and hurt like crazy.

I'm still glad I got banded, I just wish now that I would learn my limits and be willing to stick to it.

I found that I ate just about anything for the first 13 months after the band operation, but in small bites with each chewed 30 times minimum. During the 14th month, I got an "over-fill", which after it was corrected, left me with a list of foods that don't agree with me. Believe it or not, one of them is Chocolate!! Anthing with eggs and some dairy products (which is where the chocolate issue comes from) also don't work. Any kind of peppers and apples also cause a problem. I have no problem with fish, ground meat, most veges if the are cut up, Cookies and my favorite exception to the no-dairy is ice cream. It goes without saying that the size of each bite and the size of the overall portion is paramont to success in each meal and for the overall life style change. By the way, the trick I started using in the first month when it comes to the daily Dunkin Donut stop, is that before I leave the counter, I break the dount in half and leave with my coffee and half the donut. This does work.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
