1Day1Life4Now 882 Posted May 23, 2014 Yep, Normal Normal Normal. You have just had surgery and you were pumped full of air and fluids. Your insides are swollen and recovering. Give yourself some time and the weight loss will appear suddenly in a few days. You are still healing so give yourself some time.... you will be surprised one day when you wake up and the scale is down 8 or 9 pounds over night. Be patient..... the numbers will fall. 3 StrawberryPolly, mizz_sleeved and Pkdvm reacted to this
LumpySpacePrincess 594 Posted May 23, 2014 Hide your scale! The scale is nothing but an instrument of torture, to be honest, especially in the first few months. Only weigh in at your surgeon's office so you're not focused on that number daily. Also, if you weigh in at your surgeon's you'll have others there for emotional support if the number is not what you were expecting or wanted. I gave my therapist my scale before surgery and I only weighed twice per month for the first five months, now we're only weighing once every six weeks. Its more important now to focus on your nutritional choices, movement, and your healing than the number on the scale. I think in a lot of ways when people step on the scale daily they are saying that they don't trust themselves to make the right nutritional choices. You MUST trust yourself in this process, let go of the number, and relax for a little while. Work your sleeve and it will work for you, regardless of what your scale says! 4 Pkdvm, ChavaBling, solimama and 1 other reacted to this
Teachamy 1,042 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) woo hoo! TOTALLY agree with those who posted before me . I have been weighing in once every two and a half weeks lately. Inevitably, I see a loss. That way I don't obsess over day to day/hour to hour fluctuations. ajs 22 Posted May 25, 2014 I agree I don't have a scale! I just wait for dr appointment! I focus on nutrition also I feel my body changing and that's good enough for me rather than a number. Good luck to everyone!
