I just wanted to write a myriad of things here. My hair has been falling out now for about 2 weeks. It is more of a nuisance than a concern. Also, I was at Sam's Club yesterday to get Premier Protein drinks and they have gone up to $18.88 for 12!! SIGH.........If I can get a better deal at costco I may have to get a card for there.

The last things is this. Has anyone else had a problem with BO since surgery? It seems I cannot find a deodorant that works and I never had this problem before......

Ha... I can answer one of these and I'm not post-op!!!

The BO can come from your body being in the state of ketosis (high protein/low carb diet). Here's a link with a couple of suggestions at the bottom (but nothing earth-shattering)

I'm so glad I got to contribute! As a pre-op'per, I feel like I get tons of information without being able to give back much (yet)!

I have found that my Bath & Body Works Fragrance Mist works much better than deodorant. I use Secret after my shower but spray my pits before I get dressed. The smell of the Mist doesn't last long but it really help keep the smell at bay. Going Poo-free helped me with my Hair loss. But my hair loss was years ago due to stress. I have been using bar Shampoo from Chagrin Valley or Basin with great success. As for the shakes, I haven't used a shake in months. I get the majority of my protien from dairy (cottage cheese, cheddar and milk).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
