When I was in High School I loved to run. And I ran every night after work until I got pregnant with my 12 year old. While I was pregnant I had horrible morning sickness that didn't go away until after I delivered him, but the morning sickness always hit worse at night so I stopped running. Yada Yada Yada I never got back into running and got fatter and fatter.

Tonight I decided I was going to try to run around the block and I did it. It took me 15 minutes and I'm sure most runners would have said I was jogging but to me it was a run.

I came home and laid on the floor panting like a dog for 10 minutes but I did it, and wanted to share!

I recently started running. Yes "avid" runners would call it jogging, but it is running to me! I can do a 14 min mile on average and can now run 3 miles straight before I have to walk- but I'm out there doing it!

Who cares how long it takes- you did more than most on any given day!

I did my first 10K a few weeks ago. I was dead last- BUT 4 girls behind me quit during it. So I might have been last but I finished and I didn't quit!!

Good for you! Keep it up!

Good for you! I also run at a pace some people would probably call a jog, but it makes me happy. Keep up the good work! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
