June 2014 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for my sleeve surgery on June 4th and am looking for other June sleevers to connect with. I just joined this app today. It was recommended to me by someone at my dentist's office who had the sleeve procedure a year ago. She said connecting with other people who were having the same procedure in the same month was really helpful to her, so I'm hoping to find some other people like me who are looking for help and support as we begin our new journey. Any takers?

Jump on the sleeve boards. This is the Bypass board and our journey is a bit different.

I am getting sleeved on June 5th. Been on a liquid diet for two weeks and have two weeks to go. Miss chewing. Never realized how much I would miss the actual mechanics of chewing.

Hi, I'm scheduled for VSG on 6/30/2014. Although it will be at the end of the month, I'm still a Junie. lol Good luck to all who is scheduled for surgery and congratulations to all who had the surgery. I'm looking forward to sharing in this experience.

Hi, there seems to be some confusion. After posting my reply, I checked the thread and I have to agree with camper-girl, this is the sleeve forum. In the thread it says, monthly gastric sleevers - 2014 gastric sleever - June 2014. Perhaps the forums are intertwined. Surgery is the common factor. Just my 2 cents. Have a good day all. Good luck and congratulations to all who will have or have had either surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
