Ree224 22 Posted May 19, 2014 I have read that after the surgery due to malnutrition you lose energy. I know that carrying the weight zaps your energy. I also have hypothyroid that takes my energy. I just want to know that you get energy back. Thanks for any feed back.
marfar7 1,533 Posted May 19, 2014 Absolutely! I could feel the energy come back fully after I started eating actual food, at about 4 weeks post op. The liquid stage sucks, not only becuz I starved but becuz I had very little energy. As the weight comes off, ull reap the benefits of more energy also. I also take Levothyroxine for my thyroid. have for about 12 yrs. Haven't noticed a difference in that area since having wls. Good luck!
HHHappy 225 Posted May 19, 2014 I'm also hypothryoid. My energy level returned in less than a week post op!
squeaker31 65 Posted May 19, 2014 I have been wondering about my energy levels. Pre surgery I was always exhausted. Always. I still feel tired but I think I do have more energy now at 6 weeks out. I feel like I can walk with more pep in my step. I still need naps and am not as active as I want to be but I'm hoping to keep building. Finally feel like maybe an upward spiral instead of a downward one!
