First fill with fluoroscopy

Recommended Posts

So I just had my 3-year bandiversary a couple weeks ago and now next month I'll be getting my first fill under fluoroscopy to see if there is anything funny going on with my band...I had a baby last year and I've gotten a few fills since then with no change...like none whatsoever. It feels like I don't have a fill at all but I still get stuck. I'm worried something is wrong but at the same time, I'm hoping something is wrong so I have a reason for my weight loss being at a stall. Is it weird to be excited about a possible issue?

Anyway, wish me luck! I'm not sure if I want the all-clear or them to find an issue that is fixable...Here's hoping whatever is wrong isn't super bad and doesn't cost an arm and leg to fix!

"It feels like I don't have a fill at all but I still get stuck"

I've always equated getting food stuck with restriction and along with it came satiety? Do you not feel any satiety?

What feeling are you looking for?

Yes, I never felt full at all. I felt like I could continually eat! I never tried to push the boundaries but never felt like I did before.

I had my fill today and everything is good to go though! I'm recommitting and following the rules to a T! I have been a slacking bandster without feeling restriction and that has to stop! (Literally and figuratively now)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
