Just so there are no more misunderstandings, the person I am calling a liar is the registered user "teacher", not anyone else. This person has made rediculous statements. If my posts offended her it was not my intention. S/he has apparantly run a global on my posts in order to take some comments out of context for a reason known only to her. My posts did not single her out until now and only because of rediculous claims. We happen to live in the same area, perhaps we have met in a support group. Who knows?

Anchormom and mew I don't blame you, but please take a look at what happened. I posted something provocative today. As a response, one user said I am "hateful, angry" and a "person with lots of issues". I didn't even notice the name but now she is claiming I sent her a "hateful private message" Should I just ignore that? OK, I answered my own question and from here on I will do just that.

OK I admit it I did come back to look and boy are some of you completely wrong about my point. I suppose it's the bane of the written word vs. just speaking. 1st of all, I think all forums are great. The only reason I found this is because of a referral. I belong to a closed forum moderated by the hospital where I had my surgery and the difference is night and day. It shocked me.

I have all of the overeating issues that anyone who has lapband surgery has. We could match stories about endless diets word for word. What shocked me and concerned me was in the few days, the slice I read of this forum seems to be about eating vs. losing weight.

I will admit that most of it came from one post that had to do with a person that was less than 2 weeks post op and asked if s/he could eat pizza. It's still here, you can look at it. Lots of posts about "go for it". I asked why one who had been through surgery would want to eat "crap like that" and gave my stratagies for ordering in and going to a pizza parlor. The deluge of replys had to do with "not feeling deprived" and particular scorn for "chicken and salad"

WTF? I thought the point was to lose weight, not to eat. In the other forum we share stratagies on how to cope when eating at home with the family, preparing meals for others and going to resturants, not how to continue bad habits without physical consequences. I believe this kind of advice is particularly dangerous since apparantly this a place for those who have been newly banded or are considering the surgery. That's all.

I am so happy I had the surgery. My "official" weight loss is 37lbs since December. I say official since I only weigh at the Drs ofc. I'm hoping/expecting next Wed it will go over 40. Yes, I HAVE found what I am looking for. For those of you who missed my point...If the shoe DOES NOT fit DON'T wear it. Take your own advice and pass on posts that don't pertain to you.

Too bad dislexi was a 'drive by poster'. Perhaps if she had had the corage and courtesy to return to read the replies, she might have learned something. The world is full of information. As a mature adult, it is MY respondsibilty to learn all I can from informed sources before making my decisions. I come to this site,,as well as other sites,,to glean from it, using others experiences that might be helpful to me. My surgeon is the one I listen to when it comes to basics. I was given a package of detailed informatin about food, exercise and possible complications. THAT is what I follow. What I get here is moral support,,a place to vent frustratinos and share my experiences in my band journey to date. I believe that everyone who has had the band had it done in a sincere effort to help regain some control over their eating problems. Some people are willing to make changes in their lifestyles,,others are not. I can only 'walk the walk' MY surgeon has shown me is in MY best interest. Like any other support group,,,one tkaes with them what they can use,,and disregards teh rest. I look to the experienced folks who are being sucessful in their weight loss journies for support. I relate to the others who are struggling and try to encourage them and offer suggestions,,usually reminding them to do exactly what their own surgeon advised them to do in order to be sucessful.

If one takes everything one reads on the internet as 'gospel',to me, that reflects a misunderstanding of what the information highway is all about.

Best wishes to everyone here,,

Deb

Considering she is on line as we speak, it's a fair bet that she didn't leave as she said she did.

There are no rules here that someone has to be banded for "X" number of days before they can post and offer opinions. That's what adults do, they discuss, agree, disagree, offer a new perspective, etc.

Some people....

dislexi....You said what you wanted to say, why try to keep rehashing it? And as far as 'teacher' goes, I have been reading her posts and am inclined to believe her about the private message...just as I have been reading your posts, and have formed my own opinions as well...take that for what you will.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
