When did you stop feeling tired

Recommended Posts

I find myself so lethargic. I am trying very hard to get Water and I'm trying to eat Protein but I feel like that's all I do. I am four weeks out and back at work and I find myself so preoccupied with trying to get in the water and the protein. Yesterday my hairdresser, Commented on how dry my skin and hair were. The timing of trying not to drink 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after when it takes so long to eat is very challenging.

I would be grateful for any suggestions that anyone has as to how they handled this. I would also like to know if this is common and when it passes? Thank you in advance for any insight you can give me.

Every person is different. I have rejuvenated by this surgery and never felt tired. I got out of my recliner 2 days after surgery and have not slowed down. I started shopping and having more lunches with friends. Hopefully sunny weather will life your spirits and make you feel better. Winter dries our skin out. At 5 months out my hair began coming out. I am hoping that stops soon. I was told at 3 months out I was eating too much Protein. We all have to find the right balance. My husband and I were told to eat healthy, do not eat 3 meals a day, eat only when hungry. It has worked for us.

Try taking Biotin Vitamin for your hair and trust the process! :)

I have taken Biotin since before surgery. I can see nothing it has done for me. Losing hair for 2 months now.

If it's the dryness you're worried about, maybe some Vitamin E?

I am 6 weeks out. Had a complication which resulted in a hospital stay and a drain being put into my stomach.I have been out of hospital for 3 weeks now. I have not had one good day :(. I try like crazy to get in my Water and Proteins and food. Ive had to rework my Vitamins because they made me nauseaus. Please tell me this will all pass. I have lost 29 pounds but right now I'm so tired of being sick and tired.

I swear by coconut oil for lots of things, especially dry skin. I never use aftersun anymore and I never peel. I have a thyroid issue and one side effect has always been dry skin. I used to spend a fortune on expensive heavy creams but now just pop along to the health food shop and buy natural raw coconut oil for under £5.00. It helps strengthen my nails, conditions my hair (only use a little!) and cleans my teeth instead of mouthwashes.

Might be worth a try and it isn't expensive if you don't like it!

Hugs

Kate

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
