TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted May 29, 2014 Did they suture your ab muscles back together as well? I'm worried that will make it even more painful! I'm very concerned with the amount of pain I will have after the operation and how long I will be unable to do for myself! I am scheduled for June 24th to have a TT along with seeing my ab muscles back together, a breast lift/breast augmentation under the muscle and arm lift... I'm excited to be getting a new body but scared to death of the recovery!!! My ab muscles were sutured back together during my TT. The pain is not nearly as bad as you would think. I was pleasantly surprised! I expected to be completely incapacitated for WEEKS, but rather, it feels like I hardly skipped a beat. They will probably wait to see what the condition of you ab muscles are, my plastic surgeon told me it depends on if the muscles are strong enough to hold sutures. The biggest issues I had were: where the drains went in was the most painful, but not more than a 3-5. Had to walk and sleep like Quasimodo for a while to allow proper healing Had to hold my tummy when coughing, laughing or sneezing Good luck!

I do know that I'm using my arms a lot to get up and down. I would think you would just need somebody around to help you get up and down (bed, toilet, etc)I haven't been told when I can shower, but I think bathing is going to be interesting , if allowed, in the next few days. aguafria6 16 Posted May 29, 2014 Hi Missy! I'm a "Missy" too I had the Mommy Makeover surgery in March 2013. (Breast lift & tummy tuck). It was one of the best decisions I made! I used Mederma for scars pretty religiously and I think it helped some. But I've only had the lap band surgery. And I also used it on the Tummy Tuck scar too

Missy41 19 Posted May 29, 2014 Hi Missy! Thanks for the tip on Mederma from you all I can't get it here but will try and have it shipped from the UK. I used Bio-Oli after my band and sleeve which helped a bit but not a lot. Luckily I don't have to have abs stitched back together (they haven't split) so apparently the recovery should be good. I hope so anyway, because we run our own business and I need to get back to work so soon as I can! Really can't wait to get my TT and later the breast lift, so excited to get rid of the loose skin
aguafria6 16 Posted May 29, 2014 That happened with my Tummy Tuck too! Who knew that losing 100lbs, having 2 kids would result in not having the muscles separated. My surgeon said I really lucked out. 1 Missy41 reacted to this
