Back from vacation

Recommended Posts

We were on the beach for a week and this is the first time I have ever lost weight on vacation. I stayed on plan good. I tried to eat a Prawn Cocktail one night but they were so big, I was stuffed after eating only 3 prawn! Some days, especially travel days, it was hard to get all my Water in so I started retaining Fluid. My body decided to release the fluid on my trip home yesterday!! LOL

We had a full kitchen there so I cooked for my husband and I had shakes. My only down fall I think was the wonderful fresh fruit.....I probably ate too much. But I did good and had fun

So glad you had a good time - I've been researching vacation places, I'm hoping to be able to go somewhere fun in the fall with the hubby. Congratulations on staying on plan. It's not always easy but very rewarding when you do. Good to see you back on the boards, love your smile.

Sounds like a great time! I have a family vacation in Belize scheduled for August. Everything's paid for and I'm just praying my surgery goes well so that I feel great while we're there (8 weeks out from surgery). We'll be in a villa on the beach, so we'll have a kitchen and if worst comes to worst, I'll survive on Protein bars. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
