beachplum 133 Posted May 18, 2014 I was just sleeved on May 14th. The first few days were rougher than I expected them to be, but I have had small improvements everyday that I am sure will continue! I have read on these forums that a lot of you sleevers have started taking Probiotics as a supplement. I read about them on line and found that a recent study at Stanford University showed that people who had WLS lost more weight when they took the probiotics. I was not told by my surgeon or weight loss center to take them, but I would like to and I was wondering what those of you who do take them take for brand and dose and doses per day?? Thanks!! JaneyB 28 Posted May 18, 2014 You could just eat yogurt with live active cultures.
macman 603 Posted May 18, 2014 I took Dr Ohira Probiotics before the surgery so I asked about post surgery because it seemed to make sense. My surgeon said he thought it was a good idea but asked me to wait until I was on a full diet, about 12 weeks. The normal dose is two per day.
WorldTraveler 79 Posted May 18, 2014 I take Genestra HMF forte caps and we make our own yogurt with organic nonfat milk, though I don't eat yogurt daily which is why I take the probiotics. I was wondering the same thing post-op. I'll ask my doctor next week when I get sleeved.
MelBooks 76 Posted May 18, 2014 I was cleared to take Pearl Probiotics the day after surgery. They are tiny capsules.
