Rj, you are so funny.. Love the pic with the pop tart. Evidence or not you have gone through so much and have come so far that once in a while RJ ya just got have it. I think freezing treats is a good option too. Then if you must well the frozen treat makes it a slower process!

Thanks @@LipstickLady I am like you I feel that I can have a treat now and then and today it was just to mess around a little. I planned on eating the pop tart anyway. It was my hubby who said I would get it from the forum if I did it...When I want a treat I eat it and never think about it again. it was so funny because it was only 2 days ago that he said I don't want you losing anymore weight....Because I am only a couple of lbs from goal.....Crazy goof!

Did you get my message about how wonderful you look now....What a great accomplishment for you as well! :)

My thoughts EXACTLY!!!!

2 years out and 200 lbs down? 10 lbs from goal? I say don't take just a bite......eat it all.........a bite is just the kind of test we couldn't pass and ended up here......embrace it...own it....enjoy it.... And then get back up on the horse like you've done so well for the past almost 2 years......really.....live a bit......it's a pop tart, not heroin:)

Okay so I told my hubby I needed a pop tart...He said go on the forum and tell them that you want a pop tart and they will tell you in not a kind way to not eat that damn pop tart...

I really want a strawberry one with frosting guys......Just one.....Me bad!

I wonder what I am really needing for my body that makes me think a pop tart will do it for me.....Toasted and warm....Dang it!!! Almost 2 years out and want something so menial. Fighting..But still want one!!!!! :(

I'm late to the party, but I would have said eat the pop-tart. I personally would have toasted it and put a little butter on it! And then I would count the calories and move on. I do think that an occasional treat is fine. And by occasional, it turns out to be almost every weekend for me. I don't eat much, I really enjoy it, I always count the calories, and then it's over. I rid my house of whatever it is, because I know myself and I don't need the temptation. I believe that we have to live life and enjoy it, and food can be part of it. Food just can't be the main attraction anymore, and I'm so glad I've made that shift! Glad you enjoyed your treat, and I think it's funny that the "food police" gave you a pardon ;)

It is wonderful to see so many living life like real thin people and putting food in its proper place. I salute all of you...

My nut told me when I started this journey that if I treated it like another failed diet. I would fail. But that if I learned to eat in the real world, used balance and moderation along with my tool I would succeed. I took her advice and ran with it...

So I do eat really differently and I get a treat now and then..I love my sleeve and my new feel on life and how I see food today compared to 2 years ago when it was the only thing I had left...

You guys are working it as well. I am so proud to be part of this group of successful people..Who know where I have been somewhat! ;)

I know I will struggle with wanting junk food after I have the surgery. But I CANNOT tell myself to eat something because I deserve it. That's what got me where I am at. But we are all different with various motivations and issues. Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Oh no you got me wrong. I do not eat a treat because I think I deserve it. I do it because I want it and I can have it if I chose too. I have sliders that I have to be very careful with like popcorn, cracker chips...Like that...A pop tart is just that a pop tart and I have worked on myself for 2 years to put food where it belongs....To feed my body not my soul...

It will always be a struggle because once you are an addict you are always an addict. I ate it and enjoyed it and today I am back on track....That is the difference in changing your brain set..from uncontrolled eating...

I will struggle for the rest of my life like everyone on this forum or have had WLS to control the demon...I chose to poke it once in a while to see how far I have come...And I have come a long way baby....I hope the same for you someday otherwise it will become way to much being so restricted on a diet again..just a different one.....

:)

If I were where you were, I wouldn't worry about 1 little ole pop tart. I'm sure it alone won't make you gain a pound or two back, and if it does...well heck, you are basically at goal anyway, so don't sweat it!

Somehow, pop tarts just aren't that good to me...thank goodness. Still, I do have cravings and for the most part can ignore them. If not, I modify them...such as last night when I really, really wanted some Doritos. I got a small bag from the stash I keep for my kids lunches, opened it, and proceeded to lick the flavoring off the chips. Then I threw the bag with the flavorless chips in the trash. Gross, I know, but it fed the craving without going overboard.

Hi there, Sweetie....A Pop Tart? LOL...Who would think we would crave something like that, right? I had some yogurt pretzels in the house the other day and thought "It's OK to have a few." Yeah, who has just a few yogurt pretzels...I couldn't. I ate a lot of them - so many, my stomach hurt.

I wish I could say "have just one of the Pop Tarts"...I'm not sure I could stop at that. I also find that when I eat carby things like that, that it affects the rest of my day and my want and need for more carbs.

Let us know what you decide to do!!!!!! Sending much love to you, my friend.

See I would never eat a yogurt pretzel......Not my thing.....But I can't even remember when I wanted a pop tart or the last time I ate one...It is done and over and the box sits a lone in my snack cupboard and will probably be eaten by Amelia..my grand daughter....

I feel no aftermath...Food is part of life I did not eat the box or even 2 but I enjoyed it...That is something I have talked about on here constantly to not treat things you love like a no no. Your wants will eventually win out if you deny them regarding food....ONCE IN A WHILE.......is the ticket. Not every day and not all the time and not to eat them until you get sick..one cookie, one bar.....it's all good!

Moderation and balance is the ticket...At least that's what I was taught by my nut! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
