Cannot even believe it's already been 10 days!! I was so freaked out about doing this and had so many buddies back out at the last minute and I just kept telling myself, I CAN DO THIS! I DESERVE THIS!

I will tell you that I had problems waking up from surgery. I was not taking deep enough breaths to get enough oxygen. I got combative with nurses and it took 3 people to restrain me. (Don't remember any of this)

I was up and walking 2 hours after I got into my room. I had manageable pain, and little problems drinking fluids. My biggest complaint was the large incision pain and the gas. I felt like my ribs were cracked or something. The tissue surrounding that area is still sore. After I got home I slept in my recliner for 3 nights cause my induction pain was too irritating. It was hard and still is hard to get all fluids and Protein in.

I started puréed foods yesterday and had no issues. I had a soft scrambled egg and it was amazing! I had puréed tuna with mayo today and it was divine. I do have what feels like gas resistance. when food hits my stomach. It's like pain, grumbling and gurgling. I was told it's just gas resistance and to take my daily acid pill and it will get better.

All in all it's been pretty amazing! I feel really good I look good and I'm down 21 lbs in 3 weeks!!

I hope this good experience continues. Just thought I would share. :)

Congrats! I am a 10 day-er also. I had the same situtation with waking up. I dailed my swallow test and nothing was going through for 3 days violently ill. But, now I am good. My full liquid diet is differant. But I did get cottage cheese and peach baby food yesterday and LOVED it. Ate at Chili's last night for a B-day party. Had a cup of potatoe Soup and had the waitress bring hot Water to thin it. DELISH! Today I am looking forward to advancing and feeling even more alive!.

It's so awesome to hear good experiences! I go for my sleeve surgery on June 4th so the nervousness is starting to creep on because it's finally starting to set in! I have had a previous DVT (blood clot) in my leg so I have to take blood thinners after the surgery for awhile to try to help with that. But I am still pretty scared yet so excited for this journey. Any helpful tips you guys can give me?

I have my sleeve this up coming Tuesday. My nerves are in full effect. I have a huge hernia that covers 80% of my abdomen leaving my bowel exposed. There's fear the bowel may get punctured and I will end up with a colostomy (which I've had before and was miserable the whole time. Not fun!) they may open me up verses laparoscopic, but they won't know until the actual surgery. So not knowing what I'm going to wake up with is a bit disheveling. I have to say I am very happy that I found this site. All of your stories are very encouraging. :)

That scares me too. I love popcorn. But movies are my fav past time so I'm willing to tough it out. I'm going with my mom and she can't eat popcorn either so there is that support.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
