SugarFreeMe 293 Posted May 17, 2014 You need to pay attention for signs. I either hiccup or belch when I'm full. My surgery was the 18th of March and I'm still only at about 3/4 of a cup of food. At that point I feel the food go down more slowly and then I typically hiccup. Weird I know, but it's my sign. You'll figure yours out, you body WILL tell you when its done. 1 MrsGloMartin reacted to this
alc1071 43 Posted May 17, 2014 My nose starts to run when I am getting full. I thought this was strange and asked my dr's office about it at one of my post op appointments and was told that it's a common sign of fullness. 2 MrsGloMartin and green*eyed*girl reacted to this
terry1118 1,274 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) I get a 'tight' feeling around the area of my esophagus. It's a warning sign that another bite or two will cause me misery. I still measure my food - I can eat about 1/2 - 3/4 cup depending on the density of the food. Usually I feel satisfied and have no trouble if I stay in my measured food range. Edited to add my surgery was 5/30/13 so I am about one year out. Edited May 17, 2014 by terry1118 1 MrsGloMartin reacted to this
James Marusek 5,244 Posted May 17, 2014 My nose begins to run and I sneeze. The taste of the food which was good up until that time; suddenly the joy of eating is gone. If I eat a little more, it becomes painful and as I enter dumping syndrome. 1 MrsGloMartin reacted to this

I thought it was weird that even though I'm still only able to eat two to three teaspoons of food at a time the food seems to lose its taste if I try to have more. I'm still on puréed diet at three weeks out.
