sleeved215 23 Posted May 16, 2014 So I'm 2 1/2wks post op and as of 2 days ago my hunger found me again! I thought I lost that part of me for good but nope, I'm experiencing hunger. It's nothing like it used to be post op but my body definitely tells me when I need to eat, which I'm ok with but it caught me off guard. Now earlier in my post op journey I thought I was experiencing hunger but it was my body telling me I need Water or gas pains that mimic hunger but this time around it's no mistaking.. Am I weird but I'm happy about it, makes me feel normal again. Hunger isn't the enemy as long as I'm not over eating and eating the wrong things I'm ok with it
Katcloudshepherd 630 Posted May 16, 2014 sleeved215, At the support group meeting last night the doctor said make sure your hunger is not thirst. The body has a hard time discerning between thirst and hunger. If I'm not supposed to be eating and I feel a twinge, (nothing like before surgery), I drink something first to make sure I'm not confusing thirst with hunger. Congratulations on your surgery, Welcome to the trip down the loser's highway. Kathleen
TheWigster 70 Posted May 16, 2014 When I am hungry I first reach for something to drink. If that doesn't help, I eat something with Protein.
