Ive gained backed 7 lbs this fall as ive not been able to walk or run due to a heel injury. ( No walking allowed until January ) Id give anything to be able to run , so if your body is strong enough to exercise, try to take advantage of it ! Find something you like, or try something you've never tried before. How about cycling class, swimming, dance class , etc. As far as food, my weight gain is also because im eating too many sweets ! Sugar is my kryptonite ! I don't cook much differently than I did before, we just lean meals towards Diabetic cooking, its all good and lots of variety. Try googling for some meal ideas. Good luck !!

It's not fun and new for me anymore either...most of the time I don't think about it.

It's like I had a root canal 4 years ago, and it's all behind me.

BUT

Along the way I developed (was forced) new eating habits, no more dieting, counting calories, carbs, etc.... certain foods I gave up for good, certain foods are primary such as higher Protein foods, I became a Gym rat, etc.

And if I should start to stray, or eat something by accident that I know I shouldn't, the band will let me know right away and teach me a lesson if I continue.

The band will keep me on the straight and narrow.

Although it has been 4 years, the band does not change.

It is still there, with the same amount of restriction there was 3 years ago.

I did experiment once, and had 1/2cc taken out. The difference was so substantial I went back and had that 1/2cc put back in ASAP with my Dr. saying "I told you so"

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

People always refer to the band as just a "Tool"...for me it's different. It's not a tool. It is not something I can choose to use or not.

Very newly banded but I go with what the experts say...get back to basics. Protein....water for hydration and a quieted mind. Your body remembers this regime. Your head will resist it. Take the time to confront your fears and run headlong into your good health and fabulous choices.

I understand how you are feeling! My band was fitted in June 2011, and I've now gained 33 pounds back, which I've suffered with terrible panic and feelings of failure again. But I forget just how much I'd lost.

When you have the band in its all exciting and when the weight comes off you're discovering a new you...clothes etc...

What I forgot and didn't really recognise until recently is my bad attitide with food, and to learn a new healthy life style, and not have my teacher (the band) shout at me when I eat too much -and suffer.

I now know there's no magic wand, and the band helps restirict your quanities, but you have to do the rest, and change your habits. I think I understand it now and I'm getting over blaming the band for my failings, and to work with it! I will get these 33 pounds off this year and finish the job. I'm feeling more hopeful in myself.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
