I wanted a little motivation

Recommended Posts

I had a 40 % off coupon and I knew I didn't have any "smaller" size jeans, so I found a cute pair on sale and used the coupon and got a size 14 for motivation. I wear a 20 comfortably now and it's been since 2004 since I wore a 14. My nutrition class is scheduled for May 19, then my paper work will be submitted for approval, it's getting closer.

I think that's a great idea. It won't be long before you're in them. :)

Great idea, I found an old pair of jeans that I have hanging on my wall. I haven't worn them since highschool. Looking forward to the day they fit again.

My daughter bought me a leather jacket when she found out I was having my surgery...I still can't wear it but it stares at me as my goal.

Then she bought me 2 blouses for the future as well. They were bigger...By the time I got out of the hospital they were already too big and i was not able to wear them......I was secretly happy about that because that meant I was smaller then that size then and that was okay with me.....

I still buy the next size down in hopes of it happening. But I think soon the thrill will be over for me....Enjoy the downward slide into smaller and cooler clothes. i know I have....:)

I have a box of smaller-size clothes that I'm waiting to get into. Some of it as far back as before my last pregnancy (when I gained the last large amount of weight). I haven't actually bought anything in smaller sizes, but I have added a few cute dresses to my Amazon wish list.

(my bf has a really nice leather jacket I told him I want to borrow when I get small enough =P)

My mom passed away last summer, and I kept a lot of her nicer clothes. She was a size 14. This morning, I pulled one of the blouses out and decided to wear it to work. This particular blouse is a Large, not an X-Large. It fits perfectly, and reminds me of her. I think I'll be smiling all day.

Rena that's beautiful :-)

I keep a zippered hoodie my son bought me as a gift that I have never fit into, hoping one day to finally wear it. He bought it in Boston on a trip with my dad. I felt so bad that I was too big to wear it

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
