Yep my period is all screwed up. It's getting better, but it's still weird.

I'm five weeks out from surgery & on my second week of my cycle. So I am guessing this may be normal.

Pre-Op I was regular every 25 days.... now I am looking at 38+..... not on birth control.... but apparently your cycle can change do to your hormones changing (that is what my surgery team says)..... it is taking some getting used to

I just got mine and it was 10 days late I am assuming it's just my body and hormones adjusting I was hoping to just miss it all together! Lol

I'm totally off, was sleeved 2/18/14 had in March, nothing in April going on into May nothing yet. I'm older so I thought menopause, but no hot flashes yet. So I think hormones are messed up.

Even I had my irregular periods, but as such periods 10 days late is normal, but if it is 3 months late or heavy bleeding lasting for 10 days can be a serious issue that has to be checked from the doctor. I had once heavy bleeding during my menstrual periods, I consulted with my doctor, she gave some medications and suggested me to use coupelle menstruelle so that it is comfortable during heavy bleeding.

I'm 3 years post op, and my period is only back on track for about the last 8 months. WLS causes your body to go into shock, hormone levels go up and down and therefore you might suffer erratic or lost periods for some time after surgery. Your body needs to adjust and reprogram itself. Give it time, don't stress about it. :)

Really normal to have messed up menstrual cycles after surgery...your cycle has a lot to do with diet and weight. When all of that stabilizes, so will your cycles

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
