I don't have much advice, I felt the same way and barely ate or drank anything..it all made me miserable. I can tell you that it does get better. About 4-5 weeks out I started feeling a little more normal. Now I'm able to drink just fine and eat most things with no problem. I had surgery April 7th.

Relax. I wasn't hungry at all for the first month. I survived on platinum hydro whey powder. It's thinner than the premixed shakes and goes down a lot easier. It allowed me to get my Protein when I couldn't tolerate solids. I still drink one or two a day and I'm almost 3 months out. The dr said as long as I eat something to keep my stomach working it was fine to get most of my protein that way. For now anyway. I can eat solids I'm just never hungry except at night. I does get better, don't let your head fuck with you. You just need more time.

Even though I did not have any complications from surgery and was on a rapid progression to whole foods (six weeks) it still took almost two months to feel human again. I was so glad for being retired, and I really feel for those of you who have to care for small children or go back to the everyday grind at work. The impact of the surgery just knocked me down flat and it just took a while to get my mojo back. Now that I am over four months out, I have more good days that bad. Watching and feeling the weight come off makes it all worth the inconvenience.

I had to force myself to eat for almost 3 months. I had no interest in eating or drinking and it was defiantly a chore, not a pleasure. It will get better. You are only 3 weeks out and your stomach is not even healed yet. Be patient. You wouldn't be out playing basketball if you broke your leg 3 weeks ago....this is no different.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
