nolagirl09 15 Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) I had my VSG done today and I feel like I could sleep thru the night if I was positioned correctly. I can't sleep upright on my back. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Edited May 14, 2014 by nolagirl09
DirtyHarriett 94 Posted May 14, 2014 However you can tolerate it. I was one of the unlucky ones who needed a recliner for the first several nights... So glad you are feeling so well! Try a few positions and sleep in whatever one feels comfy. Many use pillows behind their back while on their side to prop themselves up. Have a great night! Comeflywithme 402 Posted May 14, 2014 I was sleeved on 5/5. I slept on a recliner the 1st night home, then from then on I sleep propped up with pillows on my bed, partially turned on my left side with one of my daughter's stuffed animal under my face to accomodate my head. Hey, it works for me I haven't been able to sleep thru the night yet though, but only wake up once due to gas.
DaddyMarie 291 Posted May 14, 2014 I slept in my recliner for the first 4 days. Many day 5 I was able to sleep In bed. On my back or partial side with 4 pillows holding me in.
Kindle 8,667 Posted May 14, 2014 Whatever works for you. I slept flat on my back and either side starting the first night home. I never needed "propping". I was even getting in and out of my low waterbed with no problems. It was about 2 weeks before I could comfortably sleep on my stomach because I just felt so bloated. O-Town Body Rock 148 Posted May 14, 2014 I needed propping. I bought a wedge but it was too high. I cant sleep on my side because it feels weird like my organs are dangling, and I am side sleeper. Now I just sleep propped up on pillows.
