Hi,

Has anyone tried the Gas-X liquid gels (puncture them and put the contents in something and drink it) or the strips that you put on your tongue and they dissolve?

On one of the lists for stuff to get for after your surgery, it said liquid Gas-X. I haven't been able to find it so I asked the pharmacist and the above is what she suggested? Just wondered if that worked or not.

Thanks,

Jackie

I also used the gas x chewables but I honestly have to say the most helpful was getting in and out of my husbands little sports car. Something about that motion really worked if you know what I mean.

Thanks to both of you. I just saw the chewables in the store today and figured they would be better. Thanks for the laugh Dislexi. I know exactly what you mean...

I've been doing the strips and the Rollaids chewable thingies - they taste like Starbursts! I think walking is the best medicine, though!

It's funny how all of a sudden my main topic of conversation with my friends is about Gas. My new nickname is "Gaseous Clay". :biggrin1:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
